Delicious hot or cold, cooked, pickled, or even raw, these beets add colour and crunch to salads. The tender stems and leaves can also be steamed and eaten like spinach or chard.

Direct sow outdoors in sunny, fertile, well-drained soil. Sow 1cm deep, rows 30cm apart. Thin seedlings to 5–7cm apart once established.
