Light:
Place in bright light near a window. It enjoys plenty of sunshine but should be protected from intense direct sunlight which may cause leaves to turn brown.
Watering:
As a succulent, Aloe Vera prefers infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. Water less during winter when the plant is dormant.
Soil:
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix and always choose a pot with drainage holes.
Repotting:
Aloe plants have shallow spreading roots, so use a wide pot rather than a deep one when repotting.
Propagation:
New shoots or “pups” often grow around the base. These can be removed once they reach about 10cm tall and planted into their own pots.
Useful Tip
If you wish to use the gel, simply cut a lower leaf, slice it open, and apply the gel directly to the skin.
